Capitola Museum--Photographs and artifacts tell the story of the seaside resort from 1869 to the present. Fri.-Sun. noon-4pm.
Davenport Jail Museum--A smattering of North Coast history is housed in the old two-cell jail. Call for times.
City Museum of Natural History--The natural and cultural history of the area. Highlights are the whale sculpture and the tide pool touch tank. Tue.-Sun. 10am-5pm.
Museum of Art & History--Changing modern art exhibits, a permanent multimedia installation on regional history, lectures, film series, archives and gift shop. Tue.-Sun. noon-5pm; Fri. till 7pm.
Surfing Museum--This shrine to 100 years of surf history and culture overlooks Steamer Lane, the birthplace of American surfing. Daily noon-4pm.
William Volk Memorial Museum--The historical museum of the Pajaro Valley is located in a turn-of-the-century residence. Tue.-Thu. 11am-3pm.
