Festival Schedule

[whitespace] This year's 42nd Monterey Jazz Festival opens Friday evening and runs through Sunday night on six stages at the Monterey Fairgrounds. Featured performances include:

Friday night: The Chucho Valdes Quintet, the Poncho Sanchez Latin-Jazz Band, Los Van Van, Los Mocosos, the Anton Schwartz Quartet, the Kenny Barron Trio.

Saturday night: Lucky Peterson, Ruth Brown, Bobby "Blue" Bland, Shemekia Copeland.

Saturday night: The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, Diana Krall, Eastwood at Monterey featuring Clark Terry, Regina Carter and Kenny Barron, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Donald Bailey, Eddie Marshall & Holy Mischief.

Sunday night: The Monterey Jazz Festival High School All-Star Big Band, Patty Waters.

Sunday night: The Terrence Blanchard Group, the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra, the Joshua Redman Band, Clark Terry and Swing Fever.


Grounds admission tickets (arena tickets are sold out) are $79 general for all three days, $25 general for Friday, $32 general for Saturday or Sunday and $12 children per day. (Purchases before the festival opening day receive a $5 discount per ticket.)
