The CabMuFest kicks off with Richard Danielpour's Toward the Splendid City, Christopher Caliendo's Trio Concertino and Michael Daugherty's Metropolis Symphony. 8pm. SC Civic Auditorium.
The festival continues with Miguel del Aguila's Conga-Line in Hell, Joseph Schwantner's Concerto for Percussion, Michael Daugherty's Motown Metal and Aaron Copland's Music for a Great City. 8pm. SC Civic Auditorium.
This afternoon's free family concert features Russell Peck's Thrill of the Orchestra and Michael Daugherty's Motown Metal. 2pm. Free. SC Civic Auditorium.
The festival continues with tango music and dance featuring Christopher Caliendo, Sheryl Henze and Allen Walls. 8pm. SC Civic Auditorium.
The second week begins with Joan Tower's Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman, No. 1, Music for Cello and Orchestra and Duets; Frank Zappa's The Perfect Stranger, and Michael Hersch's Prelude and Fugue for Orchestra. 8pm. SC Civic Auditorium.
The festival draws to a close with John Corigliano's Fantasia on an Ostinato and The Red Violin, Leonard Bernstein's Serenade and Christopher Rouse's Symphony No. 2. 4 and 8pm. Mission San Juan Bautista.
