The Women Ventures Project in Santa Cruz County is using federal stimulus funding to train women for careers in construction. The program received $130,000 to train low-income women and get them back to work in construction-related jobs. So far, 31 women have gone through the five-week program. Of these, 15 have already found work. Two additional training programs are planned: one for women aged 18-24, and the other for women over age 18. Read more at KSBW.
