Police have arrested Reid Nottoli, 25, in a major gun and drug bust near Watsonville. After searching his Larkin Valley home, they found over 50 weapons, including assault rifles (one with a grenade launcher), 6 lbs. of marijuana, 100 marijuana plants, and at least $14,000 in cash. Though they say that many of the weapons were legal, most were not registered and modified. Police are now investigating whether he planned to sell them on the street.
The investigation began innocuously enough, over a speeding violation. After a gun was found in the vehicle, police obtained a warrant to search Nottoli’s home. Over 30 police officers and federal agents were involved in the raid. Nottoli was later released on $110,000 bond. Read more at KSBW and the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
