A retiree who volunteers at the Dominican Hospital was arrested on Wednesday and charged with sexual battery.
Edward Valdez Nisperos, 61, a retiree who volunteers at the Dominican Hospital, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with sexual battery. Nisperos is suspected of fondling two elderly woman who were being treated at the hospital’s ICU. Police report that the woman told her son, who confronted Nisperos about the allegations, but that Nisperos quickly fled the hospital. He was arrested by police at his home, but later released on $250,000 bail.
This is the second time this year that the Dominican Hospital has received complaints of sexual abuse from elderly patients. A similar case occurred this summer, but when police attempted to interrogate the victim, they learned that she had since died.
