The administration is taking the threat seriously and is coordinating efforts between the campus police, the Santa Cruz Sheriff’s Office and the SCPD. A mass email cautioned students to be vigilant today, and training sessions were held for students and faculty on how to react to violence if it occurs. “We erred on the side of caution,” says university spokesman Jim Burns.
