It’s been almost six months since Bryan Stow was beaten at the LA Dodgers’ opening game against the San Francisco Giants. The season is already winding down, but Stow is still in the hospital, recovering gradually, very gradually. According to the most recent reports, he has been able to communicate with his family by raising his eyebrows. He still has a long recovery ahead.
Papers filed by Stow’s attorneys yesterday with the Los Angeles Superior Court have finally put a price tag on the estimate cost of his medical care. The total cost is estimated to be a staggering $50 million, though there is no indication as to what kind of recovery the family can expect. For now, Stow spends most of his time in an induced coma, fighting infections and waiting for a shunt to be inserted, possibly today.
Stow’s lawsuit is being filed against Dodgers owner Frank McCourt, alleging that he was negligent in providing satisfactory security arrangements in the stadium’s parking lot.
