There’s been an increase in the number of bedbug infestations in Santa Cruz County, according to the Santa Cruz Environmental Health Services Department. The problem, says the Department, is that it lacks the authority to regulate bedbug infestations, and the bugs, while annoying, are hardly a priority.
During the summer, four complaints about bed bugs have been made against local hotels, with two complaints made against the Aqua Breeze Inn, directly across from the Boardwalk. The county is considering passing an ordinance that would place bedbug control under the auspices of the Environmental Health Services Department. Read more at Fox35 and Good Times.
