In a celebration of world vocal music, Tandy Beal and Bobby McFerrin have reunited in Switzerland for the Festival Stimmen. Based loosely on the story of Babel, their new show Bobble will premiere in an ancient Roman amphitheater along the Rhine River in Basel. 20 international singers join them on the stage for “an improvised opera with a wordless libretto.” Long time Company member Sara Wilbourne as well as Helen Jackson and Rachel van Dessel met in Santa Cruz for Bobble’s early rehearsals.
Last month Beal accompanied McFerrin and a company of traditional Middle Eastern dancers and musicians for a performance in Abu Dhabi.
