Firefighters from Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties were able to contain two small fires that erupted near the Mount Madonna School in Summit.

Firefighters from Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties were able to contain two small fires that erupted near the Mount Madonna School in Summit. Three nearby homes were evacuated, but there was no damage to any buildings. Meteorologist Brian Tentinger said that despite the heat, the was no wind to fan the flames, which were confined to just 7 acres.
