As the Governor went through the state’s new budget, he cut out $6.3 million in aid to the state’s senior citizens. About $380,000 of this will be borne by the seniors of Santa Cruz County. Just under two-thirds of this will be cut from state programs that provide case managers to seniors to assist them with daily living. Over one-third will be cut from funding for community programs.
