Police throughout Santa Cruz County are on the lookout for a group of vandals that has been smashing home windows with rocks. The vandalism began in Live Oak in January and has continued unabated since, spreading throughout the rest of the county in over 40 separate instances. The total damage is estimated to be about $50,000.
Police believe that the attacks are connected and the work of a single group. Other than that, they see no pattern in the attacks and believe that homes are targeted randomly.
