More rain is expected to hammer the Central Coast through Friday.

“I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain,” sang James Taylor. He could have been singing about Santa Cruz County’s Fire Department. After spending the summer battling wildfires in the Santa Cruz Mountains, they are now getting ready to do battle against the threat of downed power lines and mudslides, particularly in Bonny Doon and Ben Lomond. They are also concerned about floods and flash floods as more rain is expected to hammer Santa Cruz through Friday.

Residents are warned to stay clear of any debris flow and to be ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice. No major incidents were reported in yesterday’s storm, but creek levels are high, and the hillsides are already saturated. Read More at Fox 35.
