Seacliff and New Brighton state beaches were closed yesterday after beachgoers reported seeing a shark eating a porpoise off of Seacliff Beach

Superintendent of State Parks Kirk Lingenfelter said that the beaches could be closed until the weekend to give researchers time to investigate the incident. According to state policy, no swimming or surfing can take place within a one-mile radius of the shark attack.
