At its meeting on Tuesday night, Santa Cruz City Council unanimously approved the first reading of an ordinance that would require all landlords to register their properties with the city so that they can be inspected. The measure is intended to limit the number of illegal rentals taking place in the city. According to Mayor Mike Rotkin, people are “getting sick” of following the rules regarding rentals, when their next door neighbors ignore them with impunity. Read more at Fox35.
