In these very formative years of their lives, many are forced to do without such basic staples as food, shelter, iPods, Wii’s, unlimited texting and clothing. That is why he has teamed up with Classic Cleaners to launch a community effort to help needy teens get to their proms in the style that they are accustomed to. They are launching the Prom Dress Drive.

Civic-minded local residents are encouraged to donate new and gently-used prom dresses (no word on if tuxedos are accepted too) at branches of Classic Cleaners and Comerica bank throughout the city. The dresses will be cleaned and pressed free of charge and distributed to needy teens. In Madrigal’s own words, “Tough economic times should not take away the joy of a time-honored tradition.”
Apparently he disagrees with Anna Quindlen, who wrote: “The future is built on brains, not prom court, as most people can tell you after attending their high school reunion.” Read more at Fox 35.
