The SCPD is investigating a hate crime outside a Pacific Street nightclub on Sunday. Two people have been arrested, and a judge has signed a warrant to arrest a third, Redwood City resident Cole White.

The incident occurred at the Blue Lagoon, a club described by the victim, 30, as gay-friendly. According to the victim, while he was outside the bar, White used a gay slur to refer to him. Once inside, the victim says he saw White at the bar and asked him if he was the man who had verbally accosted him, whereupon, he says, White punched him. The two were separated by the bouncer, who threw them both out, but the victim was able to get a snapshot of the man with his cell phone.

Outside the bar, David Douglas Cameron, 23, allegedly grabbed the cell phone and took off running; later he was arrested by the police. When police arrived back at the bar, another patron reported that Cameron’s girlfriend, Meisha Galpren-Gibson, 18, had slapped the victim. Galpren-Gibson was also arrested.
