“Orange is the happiest color,” Frank Sinatra famously said. He obviously didn’t see Soquel Creek Friday, when it started to emit a warm orange glow. State Fish and Game officials are still trying to discover the source of discolored water, though they have stated that the city’s water supply has not been affected. They have ruled out the possibility of rust from a pipe, and are now considering whether it could be the result of a landslide or illegal grading. The discoloration has since cleared.
