Former Assemblyman Fred Keeley and District Attorney Bob Lee appear in “The Nutcracker.”

Will County Treasurer and former Assemblyman Fred Keeley and District Attorney Bob Lee be swapping their business suits for tights and tutus this Christmas? As much as it may be a highly desirable image, it is highly unlikely. They will, however, be joining their wives and kids in this year’s version of “The Nutcracker,” performed by the Santa Cruz Ballet Theater this month. And they can honestly say that this is not some gimmick to win themselves votes in some future election. Most of the cast they will appear on stage with are teens and kids too young to vote.

Someone once said that “Dancers are not great because of their talent … They are great because of their passion.” Keeley and Lee certainly have the passion, but a little talent wouldn’t hurt either. Read More at the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
