The former offices of the Santa Cruz Sentinel are about to get new tenants. The Church Street landmark is going to be taken over by Internet service provider Cruzio Internet and the nonprofit Ecology Action. In addition, two commercial spaces totaling 13,000 square feet will be rented out to retailers or as office space.

In addition, two commercial spaces totaling 13,000 square feet will be rented out to retailers or as office space.

The revamped building is scheduled to be ready for occupancy by this September. Until then, it will be refurbished at an estimated cost of $4-5 million. In keeping with the goals of its nonprofit tenants, the modifications will ensure that the building meets Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold-level requirements.
