Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa announced that two new suspects were arrested on Thursday in connection with the Bryan Stow beating incident at Dodger Stadium. The arrests came just one day before another suspect, Giovanni Ramirez, was exonerated and released.
The two new suspects are Louie Sanchez, 29, and Marvin Norwood, 30. A third suspect, Dorene Sanchez, 30, is Louie Sanchez’s sister and the girlfriend of Marvin Norwood. Sanchez and Ramirez were arrested after police could find no evidence linking Ramirez to the crime. Starting from scratch, they reexamined the evidence and re-interviewed all of the eyewitnesses. Both Sanchez and Norwood match the descriptions given by eyewitnesses.
Ramirez has no plans to sue the LAPD, saying, “Under the law, the police are allowed to make mistakes.” He is, however, back in prison, this time for a parole violation.
