Police have arrested a 17-year-old male for the murder of Yahya Ahmed last Tuesday. Ahmed, 32, originally from Yemen, was the proprietor of the Fiesta Latino Market. He was shot dead during a robbery. Police also believe that the suspect was involved in a shoplifting incident at a nearby 98 Cents store a day before the killing.

Because the suspect is a minor, police are not releasing any information about him at present, except that he was arrested outside a Eureka home without incident on Friday. Watsonville Police Chief Manny Solano will be holding a press conference at 11am this morning to discuss the case, Watsonville’s first homicide of the year. Read more at ABC 7, Fox35 and KSBW.
