A 26-year-old man was stabbed twice outside a Pacific Avenue nightclub early Saturday morning in what police are calling a gang-related incident. Though the wounds were non-life threatening, they indicate how the combination of alcohol and gangs can be dangerous in downtown Santa Cruz. Expressing the SCPD’s frustration, Lieutenant Rick Martinez said that “No matter how much security is put in place, it still takes a lot of resources to manage the amount of people exiting the nightclubs at closing.
