Some 50 county employees, most of them from Health Services Agency and Human Services Department, have been informed that they will be laid off due to budgetary constraints.

Some 50 county employees, most of them from Health Services Agency and Human Services Department, have been informed that they will be laid off due to budgetary constraints. Though county expenses are growing, the general fund has decreased by 6 percent, forcing the layoffs. According to Dinah Phillips, spokesperson for the County Administrative Office, further layoffs could be in the works given state budgetary cuts.
