Christopher Doyon, 47, was arrested by the FBI Thursday for allegedly hacking into the Santa Cruz County website in December. Doyon, who seems to have been involved in the two-month-long sleeping ban protest in front of the courthouse and Santa Cruz City Hall last year, is believed to be part of a Boston-based group with ties to Anonymous, the hacking collective.

Doyon and Joshua John Covelli, 26, of Ohio were charged with causing intentional damage to a protected computer. The maximum punishment for this is five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. They are also being charged with aiding and abetting, for which they can receive and additional 10-year sentence and another $250,000 fine. Read more at the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
