The Environmental Protection Agency has recognized the city of Santa Cruz for its efforts to fight climate change. The city’s Wastewater Treatment Facility is making its debut appearance on the EPA’s list of “partners generating and consuming the most green power on site.” According to the EPA, the facility purchases 39 percent of its power from renewable resources. This, they say, is the equivalent of eliminating 600 cars from the road per year. Santa Cruz now ranks 17th on the list of the EPA’s top 20 partners. Read more at CBS5.
