The movie was over a decade in the making. Ever since he got his first taste of wizardry at Hogwarts, Harry Potter and his friends have been pitted in a struggle to the death against the Dark Lord (whose name shall not be mentioned). They met one last time at midnight Friday in the epic Final Battle, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. Fans around the country rushed to theaters to see the Boy Who Lived take on his mortal enemy. Many came armed with wands, not wanting to risk an encounter with Tom Marvolo Riddle without adequate defenses against the Dark Arts.

It was not enough, at least not in Watsonville. First the film began late, but that is easily explained by the dependence on Muggle technology, not wizardry, to screen it. Once it started, though, things seemed to go smoothly, or as smoothly as they can go when the hero is being hunted by the most evil wizard known to mankind.
With the battle about to begin, the audience at the Green Valley Cinema in Watsonville received a ghoulish shock. The screen went blank! It was almost as if a Death Eater had sucked the very life out of it. Panic ensued. The police were called. All the Apparecium spells could not bring the film back. Some were threatening the projectionist with the Crucio curse, or even the dreaded Avada Kedavra.
It took a few minutes before the Sonorus spell was replaced by Quietus. Magical technicians casting Projecterus Reparo spells saved the day, and the film could proceed as planned. It was a long night for the dozens of moviegoers who crowded into the theater on Friday, but at least they didn’t have to wake up the next morning. After this, there is no sequel. Read more at KSBW.
