Kathleen Molloy Previsich will replace outgoing director Tom Burns at the helm of the Santa Cruz County Planning Department on March 1.

Santa Cruz County has named a replacement for outgoing Planning Director Tom Burns, according to a release sent earlier this afternoon. Kathleen Molloy Previsich will take the reins of one of the county’s toughest jobs on March 1, leaving her current position as the Community Development Director for the City of Morgan Hill. Previsich has nearly 20 years of experience, including seven years as the Community Development Director for the city of Capitola. According to the release, Previsich has helped three mobile home parks secure resident ownership, and the construction of 25 units of housing for mobility–impaired and traumatic brain injury households.

Let’s hope her “significant experience” with zoning code enforcement has adequately prepared her for the county’s red tag crowd.
