There’s some good news for Comcast customers living outside of the city of Santa Cruz.

There’s some good news for Comcast customers living outside of the city of Santa Cruz. Comcast has admitted that it “inadvertently” charged those customers a 7 percent utility tax that is only paid by city residents, and that it plans to “rectify our error.” The tax has been landing in Santa Cruz city coffers. City Finance Director Jack Dilles says that he noticed the “blip,” but thought that people were simply using their phones more. He now has to figure out how to refund Comcast, so that Comcast can refund its customers. Read more at the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
