There was much sadness when Cafe Gabriella owner Paul Cocking called his staff together earlier this month and announced that the restaurant would be closing in two weeks. But “things are looking better now, says owner Paul Cocking, and the restaurant will remain open “indefinitely” for now, he says. “The news that we were closing seems to have generated a lot of business,” Cocking says, and he was able to obtain some financing to help with some business issues. Also staying in place will be Gabriella’s talented young chef, Bradford Briske, who was promoted from sous chef a year ago.
