Got a chill running right through your bones, and you can’t remember where you packed that old pair of long johns? Blame it on Canada. The latest tourist in Santa Cruz County is a frigid winter storm from Western Canada that brought temperatures plummeting and snow to the mountains—and hills—of Santa Cruz. Between 3 and 6 inches are expected to fall by midday today in elevations over 1,500 feet, with a dusting as low as 1,000 feet. Everywhere else can expect icy rain. So bundle up, drive carefully, and drink plenty of hot chocolate. It will be a white Christmas shopping season for thousands of local residents.
