There are many events to enjoy, including all-night dance parties at Don Quixote’s in Felton, Moe’s Alley, The Crepe Place and Bocci’s Cellar. Family-friendly events can be found at the Market Street Theatre and remember, trick-or-treating on Pacific Avenue in downtown Santa Cruz starts at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Get there early before all the candy runs out!
One hour of spooky songs and dance, featuring music from "Thriller" to "Old Black Magic." The Market Street Theater performers take on Cruella De Ville, Black Magic Woman, Werewolves of London and much more. This Halloween celebration has become a much anticipated annual show featuring local favorites SambaDá! Not only does the music keep you completely and irrepressibly dancing, this show features one of the best costume contests in town. Doors open at 8 p.m., show 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Tickets: $20
Santa Cruz dance party enthusiasts Harry & the Hitmen and Light (the band) are excited to bring the Halloween party to Bocci's Cellar this year. Both groups will be unearthing their top shelf psychedelia for this one. This full-bore holiday ball will feature lights, lasers, and ample space caves to ensure that people leave weak in the knees and with holes in their shoes. Collaborations between the two bands, plus surprise guests. Costumes strongly encouraged! 21+. Tickets: $15 at the door.
A10-member strong soul group wielding drums, bass, guitars, a full horn section, and four female vocalists who rotate between singing leads and singing backups - complete with 60's era dance moves. 9 p.m. Tickets: $10.
Annual Halloween show with China Cats performing a Grateful Dead tribute, with Larry Graff and champion fiddler Dennis English. Don't forget your costume, the winner of the Halloween costume contest wins $100. Second place gets a night on the town with prizes for runners up. 21+. Tickets: $12.
