About Tremolos Weekly Singing Group

Tremolos Weekly Singing Group

The Tremolos holds a weekly voice strengthening through singing get-together for Persons with Parkinson's Disease.
Meets: Every Thursday from 1:00 to 2:30 pm.
Location: The Episcopal Church of St. John, 125 Canterbury Dr, Aptos, CA 95003

Many people with Parkinson's Disease suffer from weak (quiet) speech. Singing is known to be a good voice strengthening exercise for people with Parkinson's Disease. Santa Cruz County has an ongoing singing group for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers: the Santa Cruz Tremolos Singing Group.

Tremolos provides the Santa Cruz County Parkinson community a unique, ongoing opportunity to participate in a therapeutic and joyful singing experience. The beneficial side effects include easier breathing, improved posture & voice quality, and increased feelings of positive social engagement.

We are led by our director, Julie, with piano accompaniment. We sing a mixture of musical styles incorporating choral rounds, and call and response songs. No prior singing experience expected. All are welcome!
