The Theft of the Vol Du Messager
About The Theft of the Vol Du Messager
Mountain Community Theater is proud to present its annual workshop production for two nights this year, August 22 and 23rd. Written and directed by local playwrights Alie Mac and Nat Robinson, The Theft of the Vol Du Messager is a new play that promises to provide delightful wit and amaze with one twisting, turning cliffhanger after another.
You won't want to miss this art heist caper! Both plans were flawless: break in to the museum, steal the masterpiece and let someone else take the fall. The only thing these master thieves didn't see coming...was each other.
The Vol du Messager measures only 7.5" tall but its tiny size comes with a price tag of over a half million. The traveling masterpiece is on display at the BlackWren Museum of Fine Arts for only one more week. The museum's newest curator, the uptight art intellectual, Lester Crabbe, is fighting for his reputation after being repeatedly targeted by an unknown art thief. To help ensure the painting's security, the Museum association has called in the rough-edged John Crowe, the best security chief in the business. Their challenge? Keep all the exhibits safe during the museum’s annual fundraising gala.
Starring MCT alumni and audience favorites: Andrew Davids as Curator Lester Crabbe, Jackson Wolffe as Security Chief John Crowe, Nat Robinson as Fox, Alie Mac as Jane, Ryland Gordon as Sheldon and Megan Van Ausdall playing Dee. Lighting design is by Tim Armstrong.
The Theft of the Vol Du Messager opens for two nights at Ben Lomond's Park Hall on Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. All tickets are $7.00. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit www.mctshows.org or www.brownpapertickets.com.
