About Summer Gallery Host Volunteer Opportunity at Santa Cruz MAH

While looking at a painting, have you ever wondered “How did they do that?” or “Why did they think of that?” This summer, visitors will get to ask artists these questions during our summer show, ArtWorks.

Three artists will transform the MAH’s Solari Gallery into a series of open, functioning artist’s studios. Visitors will meet the artists & participate in art creations. All artists will engage visitors as part of their work, which will speak to the theme of building stronger communities and neighborhoods.

The artists are poetry activists, crowd-sourcing musicians, divination readers, and social justice puppeteers and more.

We need Gallery Host Volunteers to work with artists to enrich the visitor experience. Gallery Hosts activate the art & history galleries with stories behind the artwork. You’re not a docent who’s expected to know everything, you field questions from visitors, and invite them to participate in the dynamic exhibitions at the MAH.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GALLERY HOSTING

GALLERY HOST ORIENTATION is MAY 28th at 1:30pm
