About Starry Night Concert

Soprano Danielle Crook and pianist Leah Zumberge present an evening of sparkling late-romantic and impressionist-era classical music.

Poets and composers have long reveled in the beauty and mystery of the night sky. Be enveloped in the romantic “starry night” with this carefully curated program of exquisite poetry sung to piano accompaniment, and beloved classical piano pieces on themes of moonlight and the starry sky.

The program will feature favorites such as Debussy’s Clair de Lune, Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata, Dvo?ák’s Song to the Moon from Rusalka, and Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5. Additional composers include Fauré, Schumann, Sibelius, and Amy Beach. Songs in Icelandic, Finnish and Swedish languages will be performed, in addition to English, French, German, Czech and Portuguese.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Jacob's Heart Children's Cancer Support Services, more about them at Jacobsheart.org

With guest artists Thanh T Pham on guitar and Cynthia Baehr-williams on violin.
