About Star and Moon Gazing at Quail Hollow

Some people promise the stars; the Santa Cruz Astronomy Club delivers! Are you looking for adventure, time travel, something unusual or rarely seen? Come to Quail Hollow Ranch County Park where, gazing up at the night skies, you'll travel through space to see images like the earth's moon and all its craters and mountains, Jupiter and its moons, and the rings of Saturn. You'll travel light years back in time to the birth of stars in nebulae, where interstellar clouds of dust, hydrogen and helium combine with other ionized gases to form stars. An indoor slide presentation about the moon by the clubs resident “luna-tic” Craig Wandke will amend the telescope viewing. Bring your own telescope or just stop by and look through member's telescopes. Santa Cruz Astronomy Club members will take you through time and across the galaxy. Special transport is not required. Dress warmly. Rain or cloudy skies cancels the program. All ages are welcome.
