Stanley Jordan

Renowned for his singular finger-tapping style, guitarist Stanley Jordan plays melodies and chords simultaneously, each one weaving out of the other seamlessly. Born in Chicago and having cut his teeth playing alongside Benny Carter and Dizzy Gillespie, Jordan kicked off his solo career in 1985 to commercial and critical acclaim. With a knack for blending numerous musical styles with daring guitar arrangements, Jordan pulls inspiration from across the spectrum of music, whether it be jazz, pop, rock or classical. Jordan, however, plays to look “beyond ‘fusion’ and explore the concept of integration.” With his unique blending of both musical genres and guitar technique, Jordan takes the listener on a captivating journey on solo guitar.
