Speak-Easy with Joaquin Barreto, author of El Otro Lado (The Other Side) An Immigration Story

Joaquin Barreto, born and raised in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico. He migrated to Santa Cruz California at the age of 18, and quickly fell in love with this new city. Working full time and sometimes two jobs at the time, he attended adult education classes to learn English, eventually Cabrillo College where one of his teachers encouraged him to continue writing his childhood memories.
