Get your cameras and smartphones ready — it’s a BioBlitz! During the week of June 13-20, get out to the Elkhorn Slough to seek out and photograph as many species of plants and animals as you can find, then upload your photos to the iNaturalist app and website, www.inaturalist.org.

Snapshot CalCoast 2018 is a statewide community science effort to document California’s coastal biodiversity. People up and down the state will capture a “snapshot” in time of where species are located along our coast.

Join a naturalist-led excursion on June 16 for Snapshot CalCoast 2018 at the Elkhorn Slough! Events with asterisks (*) require registration at www.elkhornslough.org/calendar.

Elkhorn Slough Reserve 1700 Elkhorn Road, Watsonville
• 9:30 am - 11 am: Birds of the Reserve*
• 10 am: Five Fingers Loop & Parsons Overlook
• 1 pm - 2:30 pm: South Marsh Loop
• 2 pm - 3:30 pm: Free Exploration at the Discovery Lab

Elkhorn Slough Foundation’s Porter Ranch
• 7:30 am: Birds of Porter Marsh*
• 11:30 am - 1 pm: Wetland Invertebrates*

Moss Landing Harbor
• Talk to Kayak Connection, Monterey Bay Kayaks, Monterey Bay Hydrobikes, and Whisper Charters about joining their BioBlitz activities for the day!
