Small Worlds

It’s easy to see birds, plants, bobcats, and lizards at Quail Hollow, but what about the thousands of other creatures that inhabit every nook and cranny of this habitat? During our Small Worlds events, we use hand lenses, microscopes, cameras, and our curiosity to peer into miniature realms that are less well-known. Whether our focus for the day is on spiders, slime molds, water bears, mosses, lichens, or diatoms and algae from the pond, these events are sure to give you an entirely new perspective on the world – it’s crowded with micro-critters out there!
