Santa Cruz Firecracker 10K, 5K, 1K Race

Since the “Glory Days” of 1985, “The Heat Is On” in the annual 4th of July Santa Cruz Firecracker 10K race at Harvey West Park.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, July 4, this year's 30th anniversary race ignites the city’s Independence Day celebration with a bang and will have your whole family "Head Over Heels" and "Walking On Sunshine" without a "Careless Whisper" in the 10K, 5K and 1K races. The challenging course begins at Harvey West Park, winds its way up the trail into the majestic hills of Pogonip Park and descends back down through Santa Cruz's beautiful upper west side neighborhoods.

This year's featured beneficiary is the American Red Cross of the Central Coast. Red Cross helps individuals and families prevent, prepare for and recover from local disasters. Because, help can’t wait!

Kids participate in a 1K fun run starting 30 minutes before the main events.
