Rhythm & Motion Teacher Audition

Rhythm & Motion is seeking experienced and professional dancers to audition and train to be instructors in our Santa Cruz location.

Rhythm & Motion (R&M for short) isn’t your average workout class. It’s a high-energy dance class that incorporates the music, movement, skills and techniques of dance forms from all over the globe and places them in a fast-paced, informative, welcoming and sweaty dance workout experience. All instructors are experienced dancers and/or choreographers, and many perform professionally throughout the Bay Area. Classes are currently offered in Santa Cruz, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Berkeley, CA as well as Richmond, VA.

Interested in auditioning? Here are a few things we’re looking for:

At least 5-years of dance experience in any dance style(s)
Diverse training / background
Clear and punctuated movement
Strong sense of musicality and rhythm
Enjoyment of full-out dancing
Familiarity with the Rhythm & Motion Program
A desire to teach movement to beginners and professionals alike
A desire to learn about and articulate different movement styles
Team spirit
Flexible schedule
Those accepted into the Rhythm & Motion teacher-training program will undergo intensive training on Sundays in July with veteran instructor Rebecca Setziol and Artistic Director Dudley Flores, followed by independent study and then a graduation class in August. Audition is free; training cost is $250. Flexible payment plans available.
