Quest: Dave Liebman, Richie Beirach, Ron McClure, Billy Hart

Led by saxophonist and NEA Jazz Master Dave Liebman, the innovative ensemble Quest has reunited with its original members, pianist Richie Beirach, bassist Ron McClure and drummer Billy Hart. Formed in 1981, Quest led a ten-year run, including six acclaimed albums and numerous tours before disbanding to allow its members to pursue solo projects. After a hiatus of fifteen years, the group reemerged in 2005 with select, special concerts and the release of Redemption: Live in Europe. Re-established as one of the most engaging groups in jazz, it’s as if Quest never disbanded — their musical camaraderie remains, proving that musical communication lies in each musician alongside their ever present creativity. With the group’s arrangements capable of morphing from brooding, to propulsive and joyous, dynamics and arrangements expand and contract at a nod from any of the legendary players on the bandstand.
