Light the Band formed in late 2013, when guitarist Dan Guzman & drummer Logan Tyler began jamming at Santa Cruz Rehearsal Studios. James Tashnick joined shortly after and the first version of Light the Band was formed. Powerful, technical, funky, fast and raging, Light the Band was a powerhouse from the very beginning. Tim Gan's ultra funky, rhythmic style helped LtB develop their own unique brand of funky dance party rage music. Pat Blizinski is on keys. When on stage, Light the Band is sharp, musical, and always evolving. Covering multiple styles and drawing from influences like Parliament Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Talking Heads, Grateful Dead, Phish, The Meters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, Bob Marley, Miles Davis, Tool, & Fela Kuti, Light the Band always delivers a high-energy dance show.
