About Pacific Rim Music Festival
The 2017 Pacific Rim Music Festival will feature award-winning composers writing 40 new works that will be performed by the United States’ and Korea’s most prestigious ensembles on prominent stages including UC Santa Cruz, Cal Performances, Kimmel Performing Arts Center, the Lincoln Center, and in Korea.
Organized in collaboration with Korea’s national music institution (National Gugak Center), the Pacific Rim Music Festival represents a historically unprecedented collaboration between Korean and Western large-scale orchestras and ensembles and Western and international composers, resulting in the world premiere of 40 new compositions performed with traditional Korean and Western instruments.
