About New Beat Fund (Los Angeles), These Reigning Days (UK), Forest Blakk (Canada), Buffalo Sunn (Ireland), Scarlette (London)
New Beat Fund birthed when a piggy bank with the words "New Beat Fund" encrypted on it was catapulted into the facade of a corporate building. No joke. Somewhere in that transaction it became apparent a jar full of "fuck you's" and "I owe you's" would no longer lend it's help to an artist. So we started our own fund; no debts to the bullshit, just a direct deposit from your's truly and the people who vibe what it is we're doing. And what exactly are we doing? We're letting our music run free, streaking down the beach, nuts hangin' in the Cali breeze, smokin' Cali trees. We shimmy shimmy to the sounds of the Timby, some Red Chili, Slim Shady, and one Foxy ass Lady. Reppin' real music flowin' from an honest place. Keepin' true to who we are, how we're feeling, what we're seeing around us and the way we react to it. Everything New Beat Fund is done 100% by New Beat Fund. Burnie Baker, Fat Snapz Lalib, Buttonwill McKill, and Silky Johnson. No need for specificity. So vibe some tunes, whether you're coolin' with your gurl or partying with your friends, this is for you. Have a good time, that's what we're doing. Thanx for donating. Peace.
These Reigning Days began their gigging career supporting Mercury darlings Metronomy, since then the Devon-based three-piece have quickly established a reputation as a formidable live act. The words "epic" and "stadium sound" are often used to describe their performance. Their music and live shows have received glowing reviews and they have been play listed at regional, national and specialist radio stations across the UK. Their videos were also play listed by music channel Q Music. Last winter they toured in the Alps and were recently asked to headline the new music stage at Eric's in Liverpool as part of the music festival and last Summer played the main stage at a number of festivals including Chagstock and Lemonfest. In October they supported Echo and The Bunnymen at a festival in Rome and already have a number of festivals confirmed for next year including Glastonbury.
The band have just finished recording their debut album with top producer Yoad Nevo (Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys, Goldfrapp and it will be released in Summer 2012
These Reigning Days were selected to showcase at Musexpo in Los Angeles. As a direct result of their performance at Musexpo, the band now have singles coming out in Europe and Australia and music placements in major feature films. In Australia they are being represented by top plugger Russell Thomas(the man behind Gotye in Aus). One of their songs will appear in a film starring Terence Stamp, Vanessa Redgrave and Christopher Ecclestone. The band did a highly successful showcase gig at the BBC club in London previewing tracks from their forthcoming album. Much anticipation for the album release.
Buffalo Sunn comprises of four musically tuned Paxton brothers (Daniel the songwriter, guitarist and lead vocalist, Neil on keys and backing vocals, Conor on and guitar and Ruairi on bass) along with Donagh O'Brien on drums and Patrick Mc Hugh on guitar and vocals. Their sound incorporates sounds from the 60's all the way up through the ages they mix big reverb leaden harmonies with carefully placed guitars that take you on an epic journey through their songs. On their recording don't be surprised to hear a choir or the odd string arrangement thrown in to take you on a voyage whether it be on sea or land.
