About Mountain Community Theater Presents: "9 to 5, The Musical"

Mountain Community Theater is proud to present 9 TO 5, THE MUSICAL, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick. 9 TO 5, THE MUSICAL is directed by Daria E. Troxell, with music direction by Nicki Kerns and choreography by Whitney James-Heskett.

Based on the 20th Century Fox Picture, and set in 1979, this musical comedy of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic. Pushed to the boiling point, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical and bigoted boss, Franklin Hart, Jr. In a turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee manage to kidnap Hart and trap him in his own house, while assuming control of his department. The women work together to help improve both their personal and professional situations. But just how long can they keep him tied up?

The cast features MCT favorites as well as new faces that we are proud to present to MCT audiences for the first time: MarNae Taylor (Violet Newstead), Sandi Lewandowski (Judy Bernly), Morgan Peters (Doralee Rhodes), W. Scott Whisler (Franklin Hart, Jr.), Sarah Marsh (Roz Keith), Maxwell Björk (Josh), Benjamin Canant (Joe), Bobby Gerbode (Dwayne), Phillip Heskett (Dick), Mary Ann LoBalbo (Missy Hart), Shannon Marie Kerr (Kathy), Amanda Payne (Maria), Jennie Edwards (Margaret), Jackson Wolffe (Tinsworthy), and ensemble members Kate Cunningham, Dave Halper, Mary Hanrahan, Scott Kravitz, Hayley Mears, Sally Munro, Alexie Sadri and Cassandra Stipes.
