About Migration Birding

As autumn sets in, many of the birds that nested far to the north of Santa Cruz will be passing through Quail Hollow on their way to the warmer latitudes of central and South America. Join Christian Schwartz, park naturalist as you walk around the park looking for migrant birds and talk about the many aspects of this phenomenon: where do migrating birds get their water? How often do they stop? How far do they fly? Birding at this time of year often turns up uncommon-to-rare species - who knows what we might find! Bring binoculars and a notebook, and a camera if desired. Rain cancels. Sign up by calling 831-335-9348.
